The JCMT BISTRO Survey: An 850/450 ?m Polarization Study of NGC 2071IR in Orion B

We present the results of simultaneous 450 $\mu$m and 850 polarization observations toward massive star forming region NGC 2071IR, a target BISTRO (B-fields in Star-Forming Region Observations) Survey, using POL-2 polarimeter SCUBA-2 camera mounted on James Clerk Maxwell Telescope. find pinched magnetic field morphology central dense core region, which could be due to rotating toroidal disk-like structure bipolar outflow originating from young stellar object, IRS 3. Using modified Davis-Chandrasekhar-Fermi method, we obtain plane-of-sky strength 563$\pm$421 $\mu$G $\sim$0.12 pc data. The corresponding energy density 2.04$\times$10$^{-8}$ erg cm$^{-3}$ is comparable turbulent gravitational densities region. that direction very well aligned with whole 3 structure. median value fractions, 3.0 \%, at arcminute larger than 1.2 \% $\mu$m. trend better alignment warmer dust strong radiation environment. also fractions decrease intensity both wavelengths, slopes, determined by fitting Rician noise model, $0.59 \pm 0.03$ $0.36 0.04$ $\mu$m, respectively. think shallow slope grain center being assisted objects.
